Definition

A metadata field that governs what types of values may be captured by the attribute. Within type, values will have similar functions and properties.

For example, a number data type will capture numerical values and will typically also require an appropriate unit of measure in the UoM metadata field. Common attribute data types include: Text, Number, and Boolean.
