Business to Business

n.

Pronunciation

/ˈbɪznəs tu ˈbɪznəs/

Acronym

B2B

Definition

A model applying to a business geared towards selling directly to other businesses, instead of directly to a consumer (B2C).

In a business to business (B2B) model, the second business may buy products or services from the first company. For example, the buying business could be a retailer purchasing a data management service from another business in hopes to improve their e-commerce processes for consumers. There are often multiple B2B transactions for every single B2C transaction, because a business might need to buy multiple raw materials and services in order to create one finished product for the end user.
