Definition

A marketing tactic which involves displaying products to a visitor on a web page that compliment a product being purchased to encourage them to buy more.

Products are chosen to be cross sold if they are purchased frequently with the original product by other customers or if they are accessories to the original product. Often they are displayed at the bottom of the product page.
