The ongoing management and verification of data in a system to ensure that an organization continues to operate effectively.
In order for PIM to remain useful and show value, the attributes, data record, descriptions, hierarchy, validations, and other related product information need to be frequently maintained. Data Stewards can be alerted by automated workflows, which push out data maintenance notifications. It is important to keep data maintained, so the inconsistencies do not snowball and productivity for an end user can increase.
