/ˈdeɪtə ˈmɜrʤɪŋ/
Definition
A process of consolidating entity data from multiple sources, often used to generate the Master Data.
Data Merging combines data for the same item from multiple sources. When values for the same attribute exist in separate records, they must be compared. Then, the correct value must be maintained. This process can be rules based, but some data sets may require more extensive manual work. Data Merging is used to produce the Golden Record.
