Display Attribute

n.

Pronunciation

/dɪˈspleɪ ˈætrəˌbjut/

Acronym

Definition

An attribute that appears on a product detail page but is not used to filter through a product listing page.

Display attributes rank below navigation attributes in their importance when searching for products. Concepts captured by display attributes may contain helpful information but be unnecessary for users to settle on a product. Exceptions to this rule are complex products that have a wealth of important concepts to capture, e.g. electrical components. Minimizing and selecting the most important concepts for filtering is difficult and invariably relegates some concepts worthy of filtering to the product detail page.
