Extended Attribute

1. Information about a product that is requested by one data exchange partner but is not contained in the original data model.
Extended attributes can be metadata that was not collected or supported by the previous Product Information Management (PIM) system. It could also be an attribute generated by the PIM system which is not used by the consumer or leveraged by the business for any internal reports.

2. "Extended attribute" is sometimes used as a synonym for "hidden attribute,' which is an attribute used by the business internally and not seen in any filters or product information pages.
