Definition

A feature of a web page or application where a user enters data into a field and sends the data, usually by clicking a "Submit" or "Send" button.

Form fields have several data capture variations including check boxes, radio buttons, dates and open text fields. A database or other data storage system typically captures the form data. Form examples include online credit card data entered during online checkout and email newsletter signup capture.
