Branch Category, Non-terminal Node, Parent Node
A node in the product hierarchy that has levels of product categories beneath it.
Products categories under a node are called the child nodes to the parent category. Parent categories cover a more general concept of the products and the children are more specific to subdivide the products. An example of a parent category [Wrenches] would have child categories [Adjustable Wrenches],[Socket Wrenches], and [Wrench Sets].
