Revenue by Category
/ˈrɛvəˌnu baɪ ˈkætəˌgɔri/
The distribution of items that make money for the company through the hierarchy.
It is very important to take into account what SKUs are the most profitable for the company when creating a hierarchy. A taxonomy created by isness will often have some categories that generate significantly more revenue than others. More energy should be spent with those items, building out the structure and creating useful schema to help the business track and analyze their products. Other categories may contain more products but for the purposes of the business, may be better managed with a more general taxonomy if they are not central to the business's focus.
