Acronym

Definition

A marketing and sales technique used to persuade a potential buyer to purchase an upgraded or premium product.

An example of up-selling is when a customer is searching for a product on a website they may be exposed to a newer, more expensive model instead of the older, less expensive model. By using PIM to link relationships between products, the selling technique can increase the average purchase amount and help revenues grow.
