A technique used to gather data from websites that is then used to discover trends and relationships.

Web mining is the congregation of structured and unstructured data, typically conducted by an automated machine that can extract information from servers and web reports. The data extracted can include content from web pages, unified resource locators (URLs), and website visits. Web mining of competitor data can be beneficial before implementing a PIM system, because new knowledge can be gathered which can support decision making.
