To ensure high quality data is used during the course of a PIM implementation, properly structured data rules need to be established. Data quality rules can entail precisely defining product attributes, listing the types of values that may be used during data fill, capitalization rules, and much more. For instance, “numbers must have a minimum of two digits after the decimal point” is an example of a type of rule that can be established to create consistency. In addition to making sure data is filled correctly, it is helpful to have professionals that are knowledgeable with the products to ensure data quality problems be prevented.
