Dynamic Ranking
n.
Pronunciation
/daɪˈnæmɪk ˈræŋkɪŋ/
Acronym
Definition
The display sequencing of a data results set returned from a search query ranked by how frequently the data occurs within the data results. Dynamic ranking can also factor in behavioral data to deliver a more personalized experience.
For example, a user of an eCommerce website may query the site search for “dress” to return relevant product results. Properties configured to drive the data query include the product name, best-selling ranking, and user profiling data like gender. Products containing “dress" in the product name are returned in order of best-selling product ranking and are further refined by gender, possibly with dresses returned for women and dress shirts returned for men.
