The link between product categories in two adjacent levels of the product hierarchy.

The parent-child relationship is the link between more granular child nodes and a more general parent node that encompasses a larger set of products. The concepts in this relationship need to be related so that users can use the parent categories to find the products they are interested in in the child categories. An example of the relationship is the parent category [Hand Tools] and child categories [Hammers], [Wrenches], and [Screwdrivers].
